The breathtaking backdrop of the Ribble Valley makes playing Mytton Fold's 18 hole par 72 course an unforgettable experience. This fast maturing course has many interesting holes. Test your driving power at the 516yd 7th, see if you can join our hole in one club at the par 3 1st. Our resident PGA Pro is available for tuition, and his well stocked golf shop has everything you will need, including buggies for hire. Stonyhurst College
Thank you for visiting the Stonyhurst web site. Stonyhurst is, indeed, a school with a distinguished history, but the last thing we do is live in the past! We are a vibrant and forward-looking school with a regional, national and international roll, and a world wide reputation, offering a first class boarding and day education for boys and girls aged 13-18, with our preparatory school, St Mary's Hall, on an adjacent site, educating pupils from 3-13.

Beacon Fell Country Park
Beacon Fell Country Park is one of the oldest in the country, being designated in 1970. It is 16 kilometres’ (10 miles’) drive from Preston and is signposted from Broughton and Longridge. The Country Park consists of 110 hectares (271 acres) of woodland, moorland and farmland. The summit is 266 metres (873 feet) above sea level and offers spectacular views of the Forest of Bowland and Morecambe Bay. On a clear day it is even possible to see the Isle of Man. There is an abundance of wildlife for those who are prepared to be observant. Rabbits and hares are frequent and are easily spotted. Roe deer are a little more elusive, but patience may well be rewarded! Stoats and weasels can be seen running across the road or clambering over the dry stone walls. As many as 11 species of dragonflies and damselflies may be seen around the ponds during the summer months.

Bowland Brewery
The Bowland Beer Company Ltd. started operating in April 2003, brewing on a one Brewers Barrel (BBL) plant in a store room at the Bashall Barn farm shop a few miles North West of Clitheroe.

Clitheroe Castle & Museum

Standing on a rocky outcrop of limestone about 35 metres above the valley floor of the River Ribble, the keep of Clitheroe Castle is a prominent landmark both in the town and in the surrounding area. It has several claims to fame: it is one of the oldest buildings in Lancashire; it may be the smallest keep in England; and it is the only remaining castle in Lancashire which had a royalist garrison during the Civil War.

Bowland Wildboar Park is situated about 2 miles from the picturesque village of Chipping, on the Chipping to Dunsop Bridge road in the Forest of Bowland.

Browsholme Hall

Browsholme Hall, pronounced 'Brewsom', is an historic house and the ancestral home of the Parker Family, Bowbearers of the Forest of Bowland, Lancashire, who have lived there since it was built in 1507. The present day owners Robert and Amanda Parker invite guests into the family home for small conferences, corporate hospitality, musical events, craft fairs and open days throughout the year.The Parker family can trace its origins to the 13th century, when they gained the title of 'park-keeper' to John of Gaunt in the unspoilt Hodder Valley. The descendents of those Parkers are scattered throughout England and also wordwide to America and Australia.

Samlesbury Hall
Samlesbury Hall is a 14th Century Manor House. Over the years there have been many changes.It is administered by a registered charity known as the Samlesbury Hall trust whose aim is to maintain the Hall for the people of the area.The trust was founded in the 1920 when the Hall was about to be demolished, since then the Hall has been a museum and Gallery and Host to many Grand functions.

Slaidburn Heritage Centre
The village of Slaidburn is a Conservation Area with much unspoilt vernacular architecture, set in the Forest of Bowland, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Through displays the centre documents local history spanning thousands of years.Group visits are particularly welcome, and packages including guided walks around the village and refreshments are available. Parties of up to 24 can be seated in our tearoom, or larger groups can be accommodated for buffet-style meals. Coach and car parking is available in the village car park, or visitors can be dropped off directly outside.

Downham, film location of T.V.'s Born and Bred
Originally the George and Dragon the pub was renamed after the Assheton family who have done so much for this picturesque village in Lancashire..
